A Beer for Walk a Mile | 2014

Banff is getting beered up (ahem…geared up) for this year’s Walk a Mile Fundraising event for the YWCA.

I stopped in for “Brew Day” to create some promotional photographs for the YWCA –  and master brewer Kent Paterson even pulled out his pink pumps for the occasion!

The Banff YWCA works hard here in Banff, and every year they host the Walk a Mile event where mountain men strut their stuff in downtown Banff to raise money for the cause. YWCA Executive Director, Connie MacDonald and Paula Krupka, Fundraising Coordinator came down to the pub to join self-proclaimed “Gypsie Brewer” (and recipe writer) Natasha Peiskar in the brewery along with Kent to brew up the first batch of a Pale Ale popping with Kiwi flavours.

The official Walk A Mile Pale Ale  is available now at the brew pub – I highly recommend stopping in for a delicious pint (or three) on the Banff Ave Brewing Co.’s sunny patio. Rest assured, you will be drinking with purpose – $1 from every pint is donated to the YWCA’s violence prevention programs and services here in the Bow Valley.

Banff Avenue Brewing Co. is not only an incredible local brewery, it’s also home to a crew of “community minded beer people” who do a LOT to support our local non-profits.
